THE LAST GOOD BOOK I READ…Writer, Chekwube O. Danladi Night at the Fiestas by Kirstin Valdez Quade

Chekwube O. Danladi, joint winner, 2016 Brunel University African Poetry Prize, enjoyed Kirstin Valdez Quade’s collection of short stories, titled, ‘Night at the Fiestas’. She described it as phenomenal.
‘Night at the Fiestas’ is set mainly in tight-knit Catholic, Mexican-American communities in New Mexico, enthralls with tales of people striving to better their lives while enduring the aftermath of past mistakes.
