The harrowing eight years of George Bush had had their toll on the globe. But there were a few cynics who even then believed that the only change will be that a Black man now lives in the White House. Still you can’t blame people like me who were encouraged by such positive moves as the plan to close down Guantanamo and the speed with which Obama reached out to Africa (by visiting Ghana) and the Muslim world (Egypt) in the first six months of his administration.
In fact so optimistic was I that the Obama government will be very different from George Bush’s that when American researcher, Chloe, interviewed me at the ‘Yar’adua Centre and asked what will be the one thing I will say to President Obama, were I to meet him; I quickly answered ‘Please probe 9/11 again’. Of course his subsequent actions soon gave the lie to Obama’s initial image of a peace-maker. I can’t help feeling that the guys at the Nobel Foundation in Oslo are already biting their fingers that the Peace Prize given to Obama was as undeserved as it was premature.
Despite this however, nothing prepared some of us for the May 2nd hoax. Writing in the Huffington Post of the same day, former assistant secretary of Treasury in the Reagan administration, Paul Craig Roberts said ‘If today were April 1st and not May 2ND , we could dismiss, as an April fool’s joke, this morning’s headline that Osama Bin Laden was killed in a fire fight in Pakistan and quickly buried at sea. As it is, we must take it as one more evidence that the US government has unlimited belief in the gullibility of Americans.’
‘Think about it. What are the chances that a person allegedly suffering from kidney disease and requiring dialysis survived in the mountain hideaways for a decade? If Bin Laden was able to acquire dialysis and medical care that his condition required, would not the shipment of dialysis equipment point to his direction? Why did it take ten years to find him? …This morning’s headline has the odour of a staged event.
‘No doubt Obama is in desperate need of a victory. He committed the fool’s error of re-starting the war in Afghanistan, and now the US faces stalemate, if not defeat. The wars of the Bush/Obama regimes have bankrupted the US, leaving huge deficits and a declining dollar in their wake. And re-election time is approaching. The various lies and deceptions of the last several administrations had terrible consequences for the US and the world…..Until the decline of the dollar reached the breaking point, Osama bin Laden, who many experts believe to have been dead for years, was a useful bogeyman to use to feed the profits of the US military/security complex.’ This is from Mr. Roberts.
Reacting to the same news on the same day, John Spritzler who wrote on axisoflogic.com said ‘The US government clearly does not want there to be public trials with judicial rules of evidence to take place for any defendants who may expose the truth about the criminal acts of the US government. This is why immediately after 9/11, President Bush refused the offer of the Taliban to hand over Osama bin Laden to an international court to be tried for the crime Bush accused him of. Now the US government is setting the precedence of summary execution for anybody the president accuses of being an enemy and of any people who happen to be in the way, like family members.’
As for Elias Davidson, who heads the Icelandic chapter of the 9/11 Truth movement, he issued a communiqué on the reported killing of Bin Laden on May 2nd in which he said 1.‘According to mass media, Osama bin Laden was murdered yesterday, on May 1st 2011. He was murdered along with other family members whose identity is still unknown. The president of the United States took credit for this act of murder. Murder is prohibited in every jurisdiction….
2. Osama bin Laden was not charged for any links to 9/11. US leaders did not attribute to him the crime of 9/11. In March 2002, President Bush said in a press conference that he was not anymore concerned with the fate or whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden. Was he lying or was bin Laden already dead by that time as reported in Pakistani media? The FBI admitted in 2006 that it possessed no hard evidence to connect Bin Laden to the events of 9/11. Mass media have deliberately suppressed this lack of evidence in order to keep the public supporting the war on Afghanistan and the War on terrorism. President Obama has now demonstrated his mendacity by suggesting that Bin Laden was responsible for the mass murder of 9/11…
3. Even suspected criminals are entitled to a fair hearing. At the very threshold of civilised conduct, persons may be sentenced to death after having been proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt by an impartial court. Bin Laden was accused of many crimes but he was not proved guilty of any crime in a court of law. He was not charged for any crime connected to the mass murder of 9/11.
4. One of the persons murdered yesterday is alleged to have been Osama bin Laden. But this is not certain…. The swift disposal of his body suggests however that the murderers were concerned that the public will discover that the victim was mutilated or that the body did not belong at all to Bin Laden…. ‘
5. The murder of a person alleged to be Bin Laden is obviously an effort to revive the monstrous lie that Muslims committed the mass murder of 9/11… Mr Davidson’s communiqué was signed in Bonn Germany, at 11 am on May 2nd 2011.
The first person to formally call the events of September the 11th 2001 a lie, is French Journalist/ writer Thierry Meyssan. In his 2002 book ‘9/11: The Big Lie’, Meyssan claimed that the whole thing was a stage-managed hoax achieved by using four American made missiles which were manufactured to look like planes and have a similar droning sound. Now that we know what drones look like we know what this writer was trying to describe.
Before him American activist Carol Valentine had written about a new technology called Global Hawk which can allow planes to be remote-controlled to any location by someone outside the plane, thereby rendering the pilots and their effort worthless in the cockpit. In her treatise titled ‘There were no suicide-hijackers on 9/11’ posted as early as October 5th 2001, less than a month after the incident, Ms. Valentine who believed actual planes were used at the time, believed the perpetrators were not 19 Arab flight school attendees, rather they were American secret service agents who installed the Global hawk to those hijacked planes.
When members of the 9/11 Truth Movement took over, further research showed indeed that there were no suicide hijackers on 9/11 but also that there were no planes. All sorts of discrepancies and contradictions in the official story of 9/11 became subjects of tons and tons of research by the Truth movement members, with the result that even the so-called Al-Qaida network is found to be a database in the CIA which had the names of all the volunteers to the Afghan-Soviet war of the 1980s. In other words, Al-Qaida is not an alive and invincible network of Muslim terrorists. When the 9/11 Commission set up by the Bush administration failed to produce a single airline staff who saw the four planes boarding, or even the boarding pass stubs from where boarding passes for the four planes were issued to passengers, it confirmed the ‘no planes’ theory of 9/11.
For those who find all this hard to digest, I want to refer you to documentary films like ‘In Plane site’ and ‘Loose Change’ and to the writings of 9/11 Truth members like Gerard Holmgren, John Kaminski, Elias Davidson, Joe Vialls and others. You can also do an internet search on ‘Scholars for 9/11 Truth’ to read about the university dons and other professionals who had come together in the attempt to prove that 9/11 was indeed a hoax.
One perfect example of how a cover-up can survive for years looking like the truth was shown recently in the case of the Lockerbie plane saga. The father of one of the victims went all the way to Libya to visit the ailing Al-Magrahi, the convicted Lockerbie bomber who is dying of cancer. When this American father was asked why he undertook this task of tremendous goodwill, he answered that it was because he knew that Al-Magrahi did not kill his daughter. He added that after 23 years of researching the Lockerbie bombing, he is convinced that the Libyan pilot is the innocent victim of an international cover-up.
