Since then, there have been several reactions from well meaning Nigerians, both Christian and Muslim. Needless to say questions have been asked by many and yet no satisfactory answer has been given to date. The people are also mindful of the attempts by the powers that be at different levels to sweep the matter under the carpet, as if it is nothing of any significance. Is this because of the calibre of the person involved or the section of the society that he represents?
The truth is that even people from the section that he represents have raised some fundamental questions on his style of leadership and his involvement in this unfortunate development, which to the reasonable mind has dragged his position and what he represents in the mud.
Surprisingly, in his recent press statement, the CAN president tried to blame the media for over blowing the issue. The question is: which media is he blaming now? The ones that he always used to help him actualize his dreams; or the ones that on one particular day decided to say the truth and report things as they are? Well, the only thing that he claimed to know about the issue was he leased out his aircraft that was supposed to be for pastoral duties to a commercial firm whose nature of business he said he did not know too well nor had no idea of.
Whether true or false, what Nigerians are interested in knowing is why his private jet was used in the first place, why such a huge amount of money, who owns the money why buying arms through the black market, who is buying the arms and what are they to be used for?
In all fairness Nigerians deserve a much better explanation from what we have heard so far. Unless that is done, then people have the right to conclude that the federal government and the CAN president are in a unholy alliance with a hidden agenda and on a dark mission that God exposed, not for the sake of Muslims or Christians for the sake of Nigeria.  
But are Nigerians likely going to get the same answer that we had before, namely that those concerned, that ‘they’…DON’T GIVE A DAMN?  For now, the only thing that gets a damn attention in this country are the TAN rallies, the sole-candidature endorsement and the rather unfortunate lopsided, sycophantic, self-centred and narrow minded praises we often see on the pages of some newspapers, and worse, on public-funded NTA, equating Jonathan in bizarre fashion with the likes of Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama, Lee Kwan Yew and Martin Luther King, Jr.
Unknown to them, quite large numbers of Nigerians are also saying ‘who really gives a damn’ to such empty propaganda.
