Ajeromi Ifelodun is very synonymous with massive votes for the government of the day because it is at the heart and centre of populations. Our population remains an assets both on income generation and electioneering in the state. I even dare say that our population strength can match up to that of about 5 or 6 other local governments or LCDAs.

The commonplace notion is “I love Ajegunle girls, I love Ajegunle boys…”

It boggles my mind that these days, the town is so forgotten, so backwards, so lost especially, politically. Although, I elect to use politics to drive home my point, this reflection is more metaphysical than political to me.

The begging questions are what are the Political Big wigs doing, Asiwaju Rabiu Oluwa and Comrade Olu Ogunbanjo? Why are we not represented in the current state executive cabinet?

I cannot help but wonder why no Governor ever finds anyone fit enough to be appointed as commissioner or special adviser from Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun. Except once as SA! Even Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu with his appointment “Bazaar” still finds no one fit enough?

Though, I’m one who has always stood for credentials over geographical selection but merit over quota, the truth is that justice can never be served where a particular place is forgotten under the pretext of gunning for merit. There certainly are credible persons abound.

So, Ajegunle politicians, what’s happening? Is the governor clearly telling you people that you are incompetent? Are you just pawns on the chessboard of the political grandmasters, to be used and dumped? Please, don’t fail our Ajegunle. In the beginning, Ajegunle was marked for greatness. Let it continues, music, football etc, (our head dey there).

That is the Ajegunle spirit, we are a conflux of great minds! The likes of Hon. Lukman S. Olumoh, Hon. Fatai Oluwa representing constituency 1 & 2 respectively are doing very well especially in their support for better education, distilling canal, palliative to roads and they are shifting the paradigm because our voices were being heard on the floor of the house. (Make una dey make noise o!)

Achievements are many when you talk of LG/LCDA Chairmen, especially to the axis of Ifelodun, I don’t want to kick start but the man, Fatai Ajidagba is good enough in term of his pedigree for a governor.
Coming back to state, the one visible government presence is the Mosafejo Cementry Road by HKT, the Sikiru Adagun Court during the administration of BRF and there is no any other major or meaningful nor impactful project(s) to the Populace.

The is no Government presence and no voices in the cabinet that can push for and drive home governance for us.

Majority of business activities and evidence of development drifted away from us. Even as I write this, there is no motorable state or federal roads, no major supermarket or no eatery, no evidence of social amenities, etc, And now, no commissioner or special adviser even when we have Ajegunle sons and daughters, running around in the name of politics.

It would be unpalatable for future politics of the All Progressive Congress, APC, as a party to enable other political parties use the inadequacies as campaign strategies.
