The rains are here again and we have already started hearing cases of flood in parts of the country. People should not wait until their homes  are washed away before relocating if they living in flood prone areas. This is the time for the government to act. It should start sensitising people on the dangers of living in such areas and provide the necessary support that will aid people to relocate.  Drainages should be cleared to allow for easy flow of water; that will help to check the flood. Farmers should not be in a hurry to plant things that cannot withstand heavy rainfall. They should monitor the situation carefully before they do anything.
