South Africa was one of the African countries that were colonized by British invaders. But even Much earlier before colonialism, South Africa  was under foreign invasion, their land expropriated. They were made labourers, squatters in various concentrated camps. They lost everything, including their dignity. Their suffering exacerbated with the introduction of Apatheid as a system of government. Apatheid was a dehumanizing, ungodly satanic administration. It reduced South Africans to semi-human beings. Apatheid was an official discrimination; it was a bitter truth that Apatheid was the weapon used by the white invaders in South Africa to subjugate Blacks into poverty, social and political stagnation.

Although the Black South Africans had initiated different strategies to resist their dehumanization, they could have achieved little without massive support, solidarity and esprit de corp of fellow African countries and the Black World. From Nigeria to Algeria, Jamaica to black slums of U.S.the assaults against the sadistic white minority regimes were ceaselessly. There was collective anger and collective determination and commitment to free Blacks in South Africa. The Major instruments in the fight against Apatheid were Organization of African Unity (O.A.U.), United Nations Organizations (U.N.O.), media, academia, organized labour, students and activists. Nigeria per say played a leading role  in the fight. Nigeria’s voice was heard at U.N.O., Nigerian academia led the struggle on campuses, only God knows how many conferences and seminars were organized with the sole aim at liberating South Africa. Extensive scholarly journals and books have been published against Apathied. Billions of money were expended in the liberation struggle; Nigerian civil servants had to sacrificed part of their salary in funding liberation movements against Apatheid yet, the ungrateful Black South Africans thanked us by slaughtering our compatriots, chasing Blacks from their half-baked corrupt-ridden country. It is painful that even some of the eye-witnesses of the struggle against apathied are now accomplices in the ongoing xenophobia. The South African political leaders; and various elitist groups who either witnessed how their country earned the freedom or read in History should not forget that they are yet to pay the debt they owe the rest of Africa.

South Africa is no longer being respected because of their xenophobia. Xenophobia is not totally different from apatheid, therefore, the world should treat Xenophobia like Apathied. South Africa should be isolated and sanctioned. Just sending envoys to seek forgiveness amidst repatriation of foreign nationals from the country is even disgusting.
