The wonderful power of consistency (1)

We all would often not easily engage in what we know will not likely give us a pleasant reward in return. So the principal motivating factor for doing anything is, “what’s in it for me?” or “what will be my benefit or reward for doing this?” We all have goals that explain why we stick our heads in doing what we are doing even right now.
I like you to know that it is very possible to achieve your goal or desire, especially if you are already trying to work towards the goal. I want to assure you that you can succeed and achieve your goals.
A house is built by skillfully laying up many blocks and cementing them for a solid long lasting structure. Several factors will determine whether or not you will attain your goal or realize your dream. One of this is consistency.
Achieving results is exactly like cutting down a tree. You need an axe and also to locate a spot on the tree trunk and strike the same spot many times with the axe. You do not strike once and drop the axe expecting the tree to shake and fall down in a “swoosh”. No, you will have to cut repeatedly many times chipping off parts of the massive tree until it bows and falls to the ground. This is the way the wood pecker, a little bird cuts down a tree.
Something is obvious here, that is consistency. Being consistent unleashes great power to achieve. Before you can achieve your goals or desires, you need to understand the power of consistency and wield this as a winning power.
Power is ability to do. Often, when there is need to achieve or do something, what comes to mind is the ability or power to do. Also, to be consistent means keeping on doing what you are expected to do as you expect a result or reward for your actions. Everyone who has a goal usually engages his mind and hands in a continuous activity they know will bring to reality their expectation. To be consistent will mean not giving up until you get to where you are going. Winners don’t quit and quitters never win!
Every achievement is hooked on being consistent with what we need to do to obtain the result we need. The inventor of fluorescent bulb, Thomas Edison, could not get the result he looked for after making 10,000 attempts at his experiments bat failed. The fluorescent light bulb exists today as a remembrance of his consistency and not giving up.
In the scriptures, the story of an oppressed widow in her demand for justice from a wicked judge beautifully illustrates the power of consistency. This woman had made many repeated calls and the judge being so wicked, kept ignoring her until he became tired of this woman coming to knock at his door every morning. You can break through in prayers if you persevere and do not give up (Luke 18:1).
A woman needed a miracle but Jesus told her that was bread meant for only the children, but she shuned rejection and asked Jesus for the crumbs and she got her miracle. Are you looking for a job? You can knock on that door of opportunity again and again consistently and it will open to you.
Rats create holes large enough for them to pass through, as they consistently eat off small bits of the wooden door over a period of time.
The wall of Jericho collapsed when the Israelites marched consistently round it once every day for six days consistently. You can attain your goals if you follow through consistently in doing what you need to do to achieve them.
Consistence suggests there are odds you must press against. We shall be looking at some of these odds and how to take care of them in the second part of this exposition next week. Remain blessed.
