The world and COVID-19

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the world has never been the same again. The virus has affected every facet of our lives causing many disruptions.

Just like plasmodium malaria, the causative agent of malaria, a disease which had been given so much attention globally, but yet never ended, the world must also learn to live with COVID-19.

While scientists, the WHO, African Centre For Disease Control and NCDC continue to work tirelessly to curb the spread, create vaccines and bring an end to the new life-threatening monster, people around the globe, irrespective of recorded cases must continue to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 prevention protocols.

The use of sanitizers should be seen as important, as much as we want to reduce its spread.

The world must not continue to be in a state of “shutdown” or continue to run into fears as new strains of the virus or further infections are recorded.

Apparently, we are left with no other option than to come to terms that COVID-19 has come to stay and we must learn to live with it, just like we are living with malaria.
