It is no news that villagers and indigenes from all parts of Zamfara both those affected and those not affected (but always in anticipation that they or their loved ones might fall victim any moment) by the insecurity situation in the state have been seen trooping en-masse to Tsafe Local Government of the state to get a local charm for protection against gun shots, based on first hand information I got some even queue for days to get the charm.

This should alarm any conscious mind that it has reached that level that despite voting overwhelmingly for the APC at all levels and hoping that something should be done to address the rampant killings, kidnappings and forms of violence carried out in the state by sons of mischief who have turned it to a daily thing to see they put people in misery.

The government all levels should bury their faces in shame as this clearly points to the fact that they have failed in their constitutional duty to protect the lives and properties of people of Zamfara.

In saner climes the singular act of those people going out to get charms in order to save their lives and properties against destruction should be a ground for resignation of all stakeholders involved in securing the lives and properties of citizens because it proves nothing but the fact that citizens no longer have faith in those whom they entrusted their mandate with and for God sake why should such “leaders” continue occupying public offices if they can’t do the needful? It has reached the level where our Leaders no longer empathize with bereaved families by even issuing public condolence not to talk of paying compensation or doing something substantial to ameliorate the sufferings of these people.

The implication of folding hands and allowing citizens to resort to self help is that where these people get the charm against gun shots and feel they are now fortified, tomorrow the possibility of these same people challenging security agents is very high because they will feel they have nothing to fear because they are immune against the sole monopoly of force possessed by the state through its security apparatus.

On a final note I wish to inform the President Buhari , Governor Yari and all Security chiefs that in Zamfara now everyone lives in fear as  it is which community or person is next on the line to be  attacked or kidnapped and  that our lives also matters and they should do something before Zamfara becomes a Mortuary so as to avoid validating the existing narrative that Zamfara only matters when votes are needed and do all in their powers not to give the people any reason whatsoever to resort to self help as it is bound to bounce back against and we might end sitting on a time bomb if we think it is okay to watch.
