These killings must stop
These killings must stop

 The reported cases of killing and abduction in some communities of Kaduna and Zamfara states have become matters of concern. In Zamfara state, it started with cattle rustling where some bandits attacked communities and took away their cattle. The rustling which reared its ugly head has taken a dangerous dimension. The criminals now resorted to kidnapping and violent attack of defenseless villagers. This has led to the death of many and forced others to take refuge in some areas. The massive onslaught in the state by the bandits came to us as surprise, looking at how recently President Muhammadu Buhari launched operation “Sting Scorpion” to flush out the marauders or rustlers in the state. 

While the Zamfara villages become a no go area due to activities of cattle rustlers, southern Kaduna communities have been witnessing frequent attacks by suspected arsonists. These criminals attack and kill with impunity. This ungodly act has sent panics in the mind of Nigerians as nobody knows the next target or victims. The questions begging for answer are: Who are these criminals? What do they want to achieve? Already, these attackers have created tension in the affected communities. 
 
The senseless killings are uncalled for and must be stopped.
 
The federal government and affected states should come up with robust security measures to halt this carnage that took an unpleasant proportion. The security personal should work closely with the vigilante groups who are familiar with the terrain and even know some criminal in the area. It has been paying well in Borno where Civilian Joint Task Force [JTF] are assisting the military in war against Boko Haram.
