Suspected thieves have broken into the room of a woman, identified as Mama Zuwaira while attending Ramadan Tafsir and stole her wrappers, gold and some other valuables.

The incident, it was learnt, happenedat Phase II,Unguwar Sabon -Tasha in AbajiArea Council of the FCT.

A neighbour, Ibrahim Saidu, said the incident happened on Tuesday, around 11:34 am when the woman locked her door and left with one of her kids to attend Ramadan Tafsir at the mosque.

He said the suspects destroyed the doors’ key, entered the room and removed some expensive wrappers, gold and some valuables from the woman’s box and escaped.

He said when the woman returned, she discovered that her padlock had been destroyed.

He said, “She went into her room and discovered that one of the boxes has been destroyed. And upon searching, she discovered that some expensive wrappers, gold watch and some other valuables were stolen from the box.” 

According to him, the woman’s husband, who is a commercial driver, had gone to work while two of her children had also gone to the school when the incident happened.

He said the woman’s husband returned immediately to report the incident to the vigilantes in the area.

Police in the area said they were not aware of the incident.
