Thieves invade ex-FCT council chair’s house

The former Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman’s residence that was invaded by armed robbers on Saturday night.

Gunmen have invaded the house of a former Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, and stolen valuables.

An aide to the former chairman, Gwomna Ibrahim, who confirmed the incident to our reporter through telephone on Sunday, said the incident happened on Saturday at about 11pm at the Phase I area after heavily armed men broke into the property.

He explained that the burglars entered through the parlour, went to the victim’s bedroom, woke him up and took away six phones, two laptops and some money.

The aide explained that two of the suspected thieves had firearms, while the other two had knives and cutlasses.

While disclosing that the matter was reported to the police, he said, “Before the police could arrive at the house, the criminals had already escaped from the house, but we thank God that nobody was hurt.”

The former chairman confirmed the attack but declined to speak further.
The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, did not respond to calls over the incident.
