A 32-year-old commercial motorcyclist identified as Rabiu has reportedly been stabbed to death by suspected motorcycle thieves between Shaddadi and Lanto villages in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.
A resident, Samaila Yakubu, said the incident happened on Tuesday around 7pm when the cyclist picked two men who pretended to be passengers from the Tipper Garage area of Shaddadi to drop them in Lanto village after negotiating to pay him N4,000, but that on the way one of the men brought out a knife and stabbed the victim.
He further said, “The suspects jumped down immediately the cyclist was stabbed in the neck and escaped with the motorcycle.
“It was vigilantes who were on patrol along the road that saw the cyclist lying by the road who conveyed him to the hospital but he died a few hours later.”
There was no response from the spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, on the incident.
