As the festive season approaches, Nigeria and Africa’s pioneering urban choir, LOUD, is set to light up the stage at Eko Hotel, Lagos, on December 22, 2025, with a spectacular Christmas-themed performance. This year, the choir is bringing Christmas home by blending African drums with global sounds, creating a truly immersive Afro-Christmas experience.
Founded under the visionary leadership of creative director Ann Obaseki and brought to life by Talentville Africa, LOUD has transformed the choir experience on the continent. By combining traditional choral excellence with mainstream entertainment, the choir provides a professional platform for gifted vocalists who might otherwise remain in church choirs or background roles. Their breakthrough performance at Basketmouth’s Lord of the Ribs in 2019, which captivated over 5,000 attendees, set a new standard for ensemble performance in Africa.
“Our vision has always been to reinvent the choir experience in Africa,” said LOUD’s music director. “With this festive campaign, we want every performance to feel like a celebration of African culture, music, and community. It’s a Christmas experience that’s bold, joyful, and unforgettable.”
Audiences can expect a seamless blend of traditional choir arrangements, Afro-urban choreography, storytelling, and collaborations with prominent African artists. The choir’s festive EP, released alongside this year’s campaign, forms the soundtrack for a performance designed to engage all the senses and elevate the Afro-Christmas celebration to new heights.
“This December, we are not just performing; we are creating memories,” said the choir’s vocal director. “Our goal is for everyone in the audience to feel the spirit, joy, and cultural pride that comes with African music and choral tradition.”
LOUD’s impact extends beyond entertainment. By professionalizing urban choir performances, the initiative has inspired similar groups across Africa while maintaining a commitment to authenticity, excellence, and creative leadership. Their festive campaign emphasizes cultural fusion, talent development, and building a sustainable performance economy for African vocalists.
The December 22nd event at Eko Hotel promises a one-of-a-kind Christmas experience, blending music, storytelling, and holiday cheer. Attendees will witness the choir’s signature energy, Afro-Christmas flair, and inventive arrangements, all designed to create lasting memories while celebrating African culture on a grand stage.
“Christmas in Africa has never sounded or felt quite like this,” added LOUD’s creative director. “We’re redefining the festive season and creating a moment audiences will look forward to every year. This is the year LOUD truly brought Christmas home.”
With anticipation building for their December performance, LOUD continues to cement its position as Africa’s leading urban choir, showcasing the power of innovation, collaboration, and cultural storytelling in music. By merging tradition with modern entertainment, they are reshaping the sound, spirit, and celebration of Christmas across the continent.
