Jide who recently ran in an election for deputy governor in Kogi State, is a member of many professional bodies including the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) among others. His many merit awards for service have come from various organisations including the National Youth Service Corps, Lagos State, the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Association of Theatre Art Students, the Abuja literary society and a letter of commendation from the Mikang Local Government Council in Plateau State for exemplary service to the community.

Jide is a brother and a fellow literary buff whose love for books and exuberant spirit continues to define him in literary circles in Abuja. Knowledgeable, erudite and charming, his role as anchor of the monthly Abuja Literary Society Bookjam is as admirable as it is engaging. Our frequent conversations about books and book issues continue to be the highlight of my day whenever we talk, sometimes spanning one hour either on the phone or in person. His warmth and conviviality are assets to the literary community. He is friendly and always smiling which endears him to many. Lately he announced his foray into politics. Jide is a man to watch.
