Three charged for possessing Indian hemps

The Lagos State Police Command on Friday arraigned three men before a magistrate court in Ogba for allegedly possessing Indian hemps and other suspected goods.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Yemi Egunjobi, told that court that the accused, Taofeek Abolade, Ramoni Raodu and Shitu Ahmed were caught in possession of Indian hemps amongst other things on October 26, 2017, around 8:00pm along Agege road, Lagos.

The prosecutor explained that the accused were also caught smoking cigarette and creating nuisance in public by harassing passengers at the same place and time.

He added that the offences were punishable under section 158 and 327 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria.

The defendants however, pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge brought against them.

The magistrate, Mrs O.A. Raji granted each defendant bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each.

She then adjourned the case til November 13, 2017.
