Three persons have been arrested in connection to the kidnap of a primary school headmaster in Katsina State.

Shafi’u Abdullahi, the headmaster of Tawanka Primary School in Safana Local Government was reportedly abducted Tuesday morning during school hours when bandits stormed the school and whisked him away and another man simply identified as Malam Naziru.

Confirming the incident,  the spokesman of the police command, SP Gambo Isah, said at about 9.50am on Tuesday, bandits attacked the school and took away the victims.

However, the police who were alerted went after the bandits and during fire exchange were able to rescue Naziru and arrest three of the bandits, Isah added

He gave the names of the suspects as Ali Gambo, Audu Bature and Rabe Abubakar adding that “a mobile phone used in the operation was also recovered.”

“Investigation is ongoing and efforts to rescue the headmaster are on top gear,” he added.
