Umar Mohammed Saifuddeen, assistant secretary of APC in the state alleged that one week ago, he was told that there was plan by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to destroy his house located at the Federal Low Cost Housing Estate Gombe and other members of the APC in the state.
“I was having a meeting somewhere in Gombe when around 9:30.pm my wife called me that the party’s van parked at my house was on fire,” he said.
He said the plan of the thugs was to destroy his house yesterday but due to intervention by good neighbours their plan was averted and people put out the fire, but that they succeeded in destroying the party’s van parked at his house.
When contacted, PDP secretary in Gombe State Buba Shanu said he was not aware of the incident and that their members cannot do that.
“It is not in our character to indulge in such a way it is the PDP under Goje that is known to have engaged in this type of act. Our PDP under Dankwambo and Jonathan are not known for this type of violence,” he said.
When contacted, Gombe State police spokesman DSP Fwaje Atajiri said the case was not reported at any of their police stations around Gombe.
Meanwhile, APC governorship candidate in the state Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has approved the restructuring of his media and publicity team.
