Barely one week after its planned rally at College of Arts and Science , Ruomula , Port Harcourt  was disrupted and Senator Magnus Abe alleged to have been shot by the police another rally organized by a political group in Rivers State, the Save Rivers Movement, at Bori in Khana local Government area of Rivers State was marred with violence. Eye witnesses told  our reporter that the rally billed to kick off  by noon was about to start when more than hundred  youths suspected to be thugs invaded the venue of the rally as early as 7.00am and destroyed Chairs, canopied and loud speakers meant for the rally. The eye witness said the thugs who were armed with sophisticated weapon shot sporadically In the air just as members of the Save Rivers Movement  who had earlier arrived at the venue of the event  scampered for safety.
The Channels Television Satellite  Vehicle positioned to give the rally life coverage was damaged. Two staff of the organization also sustained injuries during the melee.
The Save Rivers Movement had in a press conference on friday in Port Harcourt  said it had planned another rally at Bori, Khana local government area of the State. The President of the group, Charles Aholu told reporters that it had notified the police about the rally and had asked for police protection.
Aholu who displayed copies of the notification letter to journalist during the press conference  said it was appropriate for non governmental. Organization to inform the police on the sunday rally.
Our reporter was not able  to speak with the State police public relation Officer Almad Muhammed  as of the time filling this report.
But the police public relation Officer in a life radio program  broadcast in Port Harcourt, Saturday,  was silent when he was asked if the police had  received notification letter from Save Rivers Movement for the rally..
