No fewer than 1,000 youths will be employed by the newly established N18 billion Tiamin Rice farm located at Udubu town in Gamawa local government of Bauchi.

Managing Director of Tiamin Rice,  Aminu Ahmed Zabi who disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the District Head of Udubu,  Alhaji Aminu Mohammed Malami in his palace, said that the 10,000 hectares of rice farm are projected to produce 600 tons of rice per day. 

Zabi explained that the farm when completed will employ over 1,000 youths and train them in modern agricultural skills by specialists from Bangladesh

The MD further disclosed that the land is dully acquired through Bauchi State Government after payment of N300 million compensation, adding that the farm was cited in Udubu due to the peaceful coexistence of people of the area.

Responding, the District Head of Udubu, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed Malami, thanked Tiamin Rice for citing their farm in Udubu and assured that the community and rest of the state will benefit from the gigantic projects.

The monarch charged the people to embrace modern agricultural skills and urged them to take ownership of the project for the development of the area

Tiamin rice mill company was established in 2016 in Kano and started production of rice in 2018 with 320 tonnes per day.

In 2019, Tiamin invested a total of $13,370,500 to boost its production capacity from the current 320 tonnes to 1,520 tonnes per day.

The Managing Director of the company, Aminu Ahmed, disclosed plans to become the biggest rice producer not only in Kano but in the whole country.
