A timber operator and two charcoal dealers have been reportedly arrested by soldiers in Kurmin-Kare in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State for allegedly supplying logistics to bandits in the area.
A community leader from the area confirmed the arrest through telephone to our reporter on Thursday.
He said the suspects were arrested following intelligence information at the disposal of the troops that the suspects went to the SCC village market to buy food items, wines, cough syrups and Indian hemp allegedly for the bandits.
He said the suspects, after purchasing the items and were about to depart the market around 10:13 am on Wednesday, the soldiers arrived in their Hilux van.

“The timber operator who always cut down trees for charcoal and two charcoal dealers were apprehended as they were about to leave the market,” he said.
A security source, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the arrest, saying the troops have been keeping eyes on the suspects whenever they are going to load charcoal at a forest in the area.
He said the suspects had confessed to supplying logistics to bandits at their hideout where they produce charcoal in the area.
The spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
