Speaking on Saturday during his inauguration as chairman of Dei-dei International Timber Traders Association (DITTA) in Abuja, Chief Peter Ezeadua who was returned DITTA chairman after the association’s election on May 10 said, “May I use this medium to thank the FCT Minister, Sen. Bala Mohammed and AMAC [Abuja Municipal Area Council] chairman Hon. Micah Jiba for responding to our plight on roads after so many years of pains and suffering.”
Daily Trust observed that rehabilitation of the Dei-dei market road has started after its reports highlighting the deplorable situation in the building materials market last month.
Ezeadua nonetheless pleaded with government to step down electricity in the market with transformers so as to bring down the cost of machine work there.
Shortly after taking oath of office, the chairman promised to build befitting toilets for the timber sellers.
Highpoint of the event was taking of oath/affirmation of office by the 10 new exco.
Ezeadua who was first to take the oath hopped onto the podium, holding a bible in his left hand and microphone in the right, he pledged allegiance to DITTA and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Barr. Charles Okoye administered the oath of office on the exco.
