The leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Lagosstate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not present at the the party’s governorship primaries, currently holding at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.

In a goodwill message read on his behalf by the Publicity Secretary of the

party in Lagos State, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, Tinubu called on the aspirants to

work together as one after the primaries, noting that as it is in

any race, only one of them will emerge the winner.

The APC leader recalled that he met all the aspirants at a meeting

recently and reiterated the belief of the party in all of them, saying

that they are all capable in their own right to lead the state.

He urged the aspirants to accept the outcome of the primaries, saying that

the main opposition party in the state was waiting to see APC fall into

pieces.

“Let’s work together and put our enemy to shame,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Henry Ajomale mounted

the podium twice arlier in the day and told the delegates to disregard

text messages that he alleged were in circulation, claiming that he asked

delegates to cast their votes for a particular aspirant.

He said, “I did not attend any meeting with anybody or group of persons as

regard this primaries. I don’t have a preferred aspirant. I’m denying the

allegation publicly. Delegates should go and vote according to their

conscience. All the aspirants are my aspirants.”

Meanwhile, voting is still going on to select the APC governorship

candidate for the 2015 gubernatorial election in Lagos State. Two of the

aspirants, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and Dr Tola Kasali have left the stadium

quietly. Both have not returned to the arena up till now. Governor

Babatunde Fashola is also yet to be seen at the venue of the primaries.
