Tinubu arrives 2025 Editors’ conference

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, venue of the All Nigerian Editors Conference (ANEC).

President Tinubu is expected to declare the the event open.

Also present at the event are the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Governors of Imo Hope Uzodimma and Kogi, Usman Ododo.

Also present are the Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris and other media leaders.

Also attending the conference are the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Communications, Sunday Dare.

The conference has theme, “Democratic Governance and National Cohesion: The Role of Editors”.

In his opening address, Eze Anaba, President, Nigerian Guild of Editors, urged the President to come to the aide of the media industry to enable its survival and allow it to undertake its functions.

He said it is only when the media industry is doing well that it can work to sustain democracy.

He also called for grant for digital transformation of the media industry and the review of laws that prohibit media freedom.
