The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Olushola Oladoja, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing him as the best thing that happened to Nigerians especially students.

Comrade Oladoja, stated this to newsmen at the 87th NANS Senate Meeting held in Yobe State University, Damaturu.

Highlighting some of Tinubu’s administration’s achievements, NANS President said the introduction of the Nigerian Student Loan Fund, NELFUND, settling ASUU’s demand and promotion of technical and vocational education are some of the best things that happened to Nigerian youths.

“This is the first time since 1999 that a president is given a student loan. The rate at which students drop out of school because of school fees is no longer there in our university over 5 million students have accessed the loan.

“This is the first time I told you earlier, we have two years of uninterrupted academic sessions. During my undergraduate days, I went to school where I’m supposed to graduate for five years, But I did spend seven years in school, not because I failed, but because that was the time we had nine months to strike.

“And this is the first president that put trillions of Naira in educational sectors, budgetary. Go and look at educational budgets since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came into office. The first president has injected trillions of naira.

“This is the first man that sees him fit and puts billions of naira,
times two of what TETFUND has been getting in previous years. And he asked them not to do new projects. Rather, they should complete the abandoned ones in our campuses and also to put the ones that are not in good shape into good shape”He said.

He also commended President Tinubu for providing cordial relationships with students and meeting them frequently.

“I can still tell you, as the history of NANS, there is no president that has been accessible to NANS and his executive the way President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.Because he sees us as critical stakeholders in this educational sector.

“There is no union in Nigeria, quote me anywhere, that has sat down with President Bola Tinubu Three times like NANS. Within these two years, we had met President Tinubu six times. There has never been anything we should joke with. This is a man that has shown Nigerian students an open door policy”He added.

In his remark, Comrade Usman Adamu Nagwaza (Don Manu), the President of the Senate National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) commended Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, for financing and hosting the setting in Damaturu.
