President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday, describing him as a leader with integrity, humility and strong commitment to public service.
In a message issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, the president said Gov Yusuf’s personal values were reflected in the way he had administered the affairs of Kano State since assuming office.
President Tinubu noted that Yusuf, who was elected governor in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), had demonstrated a governance style anchored on grassroots development and concern for the masses.
The statement reads in part: “Governor Yusuf’s leadership experience, particularly his years as commissioner, managing strategic portfolios in Kano State, may have prepared him for the kind of infrastructural changes now witnessed in the state.”
He cited ongoing urban renewal programmes, construction of bridges and road networks, including the five-kilometre road projects across the local government areas of the state, as notable achievements of the administration.
The president also commended Yusuf’s declaration of a state of emergency in the education sector, noting that the policy had led to improved performance of Kano students in the National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations.
President Tinubu wished the governor a long life and many more years of impactful and transformative leadership.
