Tinubu, recall Nigeria’s ambassador in Israel

Tinubu

With great sadness and remorse, all of civilized humanity continues to watch the horrors of the brutal campaign of the Zionist government of Israel against the Palestinian people.

With over 34, 000 innocent civilians killed including 13, 000 children, no one would doubt that the mission of the Benjamin Netanyahu-led government is to exterminate and forcibly displace the remaining Palestinian people.

Unlike in times past, this genocide is happening right before our eyes in a highly globalized 21st century.

As a guardian of civilization and dialogue between people and nations and as a foremost African country, Nigeria cannot idly spectate at the ongoing massacre of innocent life.

President Tinubu, please, recall your Ambassador to Israel as signal of displeasure at the actions of the Netanyahu-led government.

Nigeria and Israel have cooperated extensively in the past in agriculture, technology, among others, and we do hope for prosperous relations in the future with an Israeli government that is committed to world peace and justice. The murderous regime currently at the helm of the Israeli government has shown they have no respect for these values and continue to inflict horrendous atrocities against an innocent people.

Cooperation amongst nations is forged on a mutual understanding of fundamental human rights and civil liberties.

We would like the entire international community to aid us should an oppressive political or non-state actor actively threaten our lives or our national security.

Indeed, we took a front row stance against the atrocities of the Apartheid regime in South Africa. And Zionism is Apartheid.

Nigeria aspires to be a nation where ‘peace and justice reign.’

For our dream to be realized, we must champion peace and justice everywhere and not continue a hypocritical relationship with any government that has no love for peace or respect for justice.
