President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria from his trips to Saint Lucia and Brazil.

The Presidential aircraft touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 2 am Sunday, Nigeria time, after departing Galeão International Airport at 12:50 pm (local time).

On ground to receive the President were top government officials.

On June 28, President Tinubu departed Abuja on a two-nation visit to Saint Lucia and Brazil.

President Tinubu’s first stop was in Saint Lucia, where he paid a state visit as part of efforts to deepen Nigeria’s engagement with Caribbean nations and strengthen South-South cooperation.

While in Saint Lucia, President Tinubu paid a courtesy call on the Governor-General, His Excellency Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles, and Prime Minister Philip Pierre.

A key highlight of the visit was President Tinubu’s address to the special joint session of the Senate and the House of Assembly of Saint Lucia at the William Jefferson Clinton Ballroom, Sandals Grande, Gros Islet.

Present during the session where the Heads of Government of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, members of the Nigerian community in the country and the Director-General of OECS, Dr Didacus Jules.

From Saint Lucia, President Tinubu moved to Brazil to participate in the 17th Summit of BRICS in Rio de Janeiro.

President Tinubu attended the summit at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil, on the strength of Nigeria’s status as a ‘partner country’- a membership category short of full status.

President Tinubu was in Saint Lucia for a state visit from June 29 to July 4.

Afterwards, he moved to Brazil for the 17th meeting of the Global South and the Emerging Economies bloc, from Saturday, July 5 to Monday, July 7.
