The Tinubu-Shettima Goodwill Volunteers (TSGV), a nationwide goodwill initiative, has been flagged off to complement the Efforts of Bola Tinubu’s led administration.

The initiative tagged “Modest Participation,” was flag-off on Tuesday at Merit House in Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Engr. George Ovie Okugbere, Director/National Team Leader, while speaking during the event asserted that the initiative is aimed at improving and enhancing environmental well-being, alleviate the financial burdens on underprivileged parents, and invest in the future of our children.

He said; “Today represents more than just a symbolic occasion; it marks the beginning of a journey—an initiative that, though modest, holds great significance. This initiative encompasses two vital community efforts: the free distribution of school materials to underprivileged pupils and a voluntary community clean-up exercise, titled “School Bags for All” and “Team Up to Clean Up Nigeria,” respectively.

“As you know, education and environmental sustainability are critical components of the Renewed Hope Agenda and essential to the well-being of the Nigerian people.

“We will embark on a nationwide free distribution of school bags containing notebooks and other writing materials to primary school pupils, particularly in underprivileged communities across Nigeria. By providing these essential school materials, we aim to support the educational journey of young minds and equip them with the tools they need to succeed. Though modest, these items are significant in the learning process and will help lighten the financial burden on families, ensuring that less-privileged pupils have the resources they need to pursue their education without hindrance.

“Similarly, we will organize nationwide voluntary community clean-up exercises and sensitization events. These activities will involve local residents and volunteers across the 36 states, including the FCT, fostering a spirit of community service while promoting environmental health and hygiene. Activities will include waste collection and education on proper waste disposal in public spaces, with the installation of customized waste bins as a practical step toward sustainable waste management. These bins are not just containers; they symbolize a commitment to cleanliness and waste reduction. By actively participating in this initiative, we take responsibility for the beauty and cleanliness of our country. Cleanliness, as they say, is next to godliness, and through this exercise, we strive to set an example of environmental stewardship.

“While today marks the beginning of a meaningful journey, we recognize that sustaining this initiative will require more than our current efforts. As we look toward the future, we humbly call for support from individuals, businesses, and organizations—especially supporters of His Excellency, Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu—who share our vision for a healthy environment, investment in the future of our children, and support for underprivileged families. Your contributions, whether through donations, volunteer efforts, or other resources, will help us expand our reach and impact.”

Meanwhile, the group on Wednesday at LEA Central Primary School, Karu, FCT Abuja, also kicked off free distribution of school bags and writing materials.
