President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday swore in Hon. Halima Ahmadu Jabiru as the Federal Character Commission (FCC) commissioner representing Nasarawa State.
The swearing-in ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where the president inaugurated newly appointed commissioners of the commission.
Speaking at the event, President Tinubu said the Federal Character Commission remained key to promoting fairness, equity and inclusiveness in federal appointments and the distribution of national resources.
He said commissioners were expected to carry out their duties with integrity, transparency and a commitment to merit, in line with the commission’s mandate.
Hon. Jabiru was sworn in alongside other commissioners representing the states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, including commissioners from Lagos, Kaduna and Rivers states.
The ceremony was witnessed by top government officials and other dignitaries.
The Federal Character Commission is responsible for ensuring equitable representation of states and regions in federal appointments and programmes.
