Tinubu sweeps APC presidential primaries in Bayelsa

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries across all eight local government areas of Bayelsa State.

Announcing the results, the State Returning Officer, Senator Doriel Nduwi, said Tinubu secured a total of 277,192 votes to overwhelmingly defeat his challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled five votes.

Nduwi said the exercise was conducted peacefully across the state’s wards, with party members participating fully in the process.

According to the results, Tinubu garnered 39,454 votes in Brass Local Government Area, while Osifo failed to record any vote in the council.

In Ekeremor Local Government Area, the President polled 45,949 votes. He also secured 22,593 votes in Kolokuma/Opokuma and 32,487 votes in Nembe Local Government Area.

Tinubu further recorded 24,896 votes in Ogbia Local Government Area and 46,283 votes in Sagbama Local Government Area.

In Southern Ijaw, the President obtained his highest tally in the state with 74,136 votes, while he polled 30,834 votes in Yenagoa Local Government Area. Osifo’s five votes were recorded in Yenagoa.

Senator Nduwi described the primary election as peaceful and orderly, noting that the exercise reflected the commitment of party members across Bayelsa to the APC’s internal democratic process.
