Hon. Zaharaddeen Babba Mazoji, Waziri Mataz has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, EFCC, ICPC, Inspector General of Police, and other relevant authorities to intervene in the long-overdue payments to agro dealers.
Mazoji said that the delayed payments have pushed many agro dealers into critical financial conditions, threatening their livelihoods and the nation’s food security.
He said that the dealers are finding it difficult to meet their business obligations because of the situation, saying the problem may be a great threat to food security and stability in Nigeria.

“The Plight of Agro Dealers is worth paying attention to. The agro dealers have been waiting for payments for an extended period, leading to financial hardship, stress, difficulty in meeting business obligations, and the situation is becoming threats to food security and stability in Nigeria.
“I call on the relevant authorities to investigate the causes of the delayed payments, ensure prompt settlement of outstanding dues to agro dealers and provide support to affected agro dealers.
“The prompt payment of agro dealers’ outstanding dues is crucial for the nation’s food security and economic stability. I urge the authorities to treat this matter with the urgency it deserves.”
However, Mazoji said that prompt action is necessary to prevent further hardship.
He added, “Let’s work together to resolve this issue and support the agro dealers who play a vital role in our nation’s agricultural sector. Prompt action is necessary to prevent further hardship and ensure the continued growth of our agricultural industry.”
