Encomiums have poured in for the governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, clocked 73 years on Sunday.
This will be his last birthday as the governor of Nigeria’s second most populous state and commercial nerve of the northern part of the country.
In commemoration of the anniversary, many politicians, businessmen and other well-meaning individuals from all parts of the country have eulogised the governor.
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while congratulating the governor, also described him as a reliable and committed friend.
According to the former governor of Lagos State, “Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is a reliable, ever-committed and faithful friend who is meritoriously serving the people of Kano State and Nigeria.
“As an astute and an experienced politician, Governor Ganduje has demonstrated immense capacity in the administration of one of the cosmopolitan and commercially-vibrant states of Nigeria, with enviable record achievements across all sectors, especially in education, security, healthcare delivery, infrastructure and urban renewal.
“I can attest to his sterling performance in Kano, having visited the state several times to commission important projects,” Tinubu added.
He then rejoiced with the governor and prayed for more blessed years ahead.
Also, in his birthday message, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State described Ganduje as one of the strongest support bases of the ruling APC.
Similarly, the Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, said Ganduje’s 73 years on earth are full of dedication and service to humanity.
On his part, the Senator representing Kano North and Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation, Barau Jibrin, said Ganduje’s tenure as Kano State governor had brought infrastructural development to the state.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, also said, “On this special occasion, we recall the various development programmes executed by your administration in all sectors, particularly education, economic development, agriculture, health, urban and rural transformation, transportation, massive infrastructure development among others.
“While wishing you many blissful years ahead, we pray to Allah to grant you good health and wisdom to continue to render selfless service to humanity,” Garba prayed.
Also, the Director General of Gawuna/Garo (APC flag bearers in Kano State), Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, said Ganduje is an administrator par excellence.
Other well-wishers, such as the Kano Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Lamin Sani, Chairman of Kano Roads and Traffic Agency, Baffa Babba Dan-Agundi, Vice Chancellor of the state-owned Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Professor Shehu Alhaji Musa, among others, all prayed for blissful years ahead to Ganduje.
