President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised to end the prevailing insecurity in the country and also deliver the Livestock reforms initiated by his administration.

Speaking at the opening of the two-day National Economic Council, NEC conference at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the President said the gathering is expected to produce actionable resolutions on Livestock reforms and also end Terrorism in the country.

He said his administration would “find means to strengthen our security forces to defeat terrorism and combat banditry, that I promise you. This is what has continue to give all of us sleepless night, but I assure you that we will win with determination and resilience.”

He also expressed confidence that the resolution of the conference would include livestock investment, ranches and diversification of our agricultural produce, aimed at ending the insecurity and described banditry and terrorism as foreign to Nigerian culture and “unacceptable.”

The President thanked Vice President Kashim Shettima for steering the council in “intellectual deliberations in the past three years.”

He also commended some state governors, particularly those of Borno, Kaduna and Katsina states, for their efforts in defending “freedom, liberty, and the commonwealth of our country.

The conference which was organized by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, is with the theme ‘Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.”
