To Kaduna youths: Hold your peace!

But attacking the elders and traditional rulers, some physically, is a greater and worse wrong. Time has come in Kaduna for the youths to be truly the vanguard of the needed change in the state. We as the youths have been abused and misused in the state that we should not allow that to happen again.
Those elders and traditional rulers that were openly partisan both in federal and state politics for the crumbs that fell from corrupt politicians should learn a lesson or two from this episode.
Kaduna youths’ yearnings for change have been achieved. The new governor is known to be a committed and hardworking individual. He is knowledgeable and experienced in governance. But if we don’t make Kaduna truly peaceful and cooperate with him in all facets of life, the change we are yearning for may still elude us.
There is nowhere you see two wrongs making a right. Many of them (the political elite, elders and traditional rulers) had openly and clandestinely opposed Muhammadu Buhari and Malam Nasir El-Rufai. But their opposition has come to naught! That alone proved that the youths and other men and women of goodwill have won.
For that, Kaduna youths must not attack anyone again, even perceived political friend or foe; rather let us celebrate our collective commitment and resolve to redirect the affairs of Kaduna State so that Kaduna State can be great again.
Peace, unity, cooperation, patience, participation and mutual tolerance/understanding are all we need and expect from ourselves for the president and the governor to succeed.
