By next year, Nigerian roads should see changes with more sophisticated brands that will place Nigeria road user at par with developing nations – or maybe not. The winds have not exactly turned to this side of the world and moving most distributors and dealers to tread softly.

In Nigeria, the big players in the auto industry market are not very eager on the upcoming show in motor show in Weststar , Coscharis are having their own program and Stallion motors have not been seen for a long time-just to mention a few. One thing is becoming clear, all fingers point north.

Coscharis will be launching their showroom here in Abuja in October. It’s of course, their biggest. Weststar is looking up coming events here in Abuja and Peugeot Automobile Nigeria is just next door in Kaduna as landlords. ABG group have their ‘Samand’ on line for affordable vehicles to invest. So there is a higher chance that the tides will go north.

So far, the roads are not clustered so you can hit as much as 150mph (241km/h). That is what most drivers want, especially when they have a premium GT car design to handle speed. At the Abuja- Kaduna road there are spots you decide to floor the throttle but not for long- due to serious bend issue- so pick your spot wisely.

It is becoming clear a lot of the enthusiasts are visible here in the north and if you know how to catch them on their extreme sports then you will know why these cars are bought.

The only one thing that is becoming very clear is that all eyes are beginning to turn to Abuja but let’s not be in a haste to predict what will happen.
