One issue that heated up its proceedings and created tension across the country was the issue of Shariá [actually, it was about whether or not to create a Federal-level Shariá Court of Appeal]. In the midst of the Shariá imbroglio, the newspaper in question had a story on its Foreign News page about the then raging conflict in the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, better known as Western Sahara. It said, “Moroccan and Mauritanian troops are fighting POLISARIO forces in Western Shariá.” Chai!
