He stated this at the international lecture on “World crisis and the pathway to peace” organized by the Kalimatul Shaadat Islamic Foundation at the National Mosque Auditorium, Abuja.
He said vested interest, unfair treatments of people and nations are the cause of unrests and the pervasive the world crisis.
“No one can ever claim that in any society, country even the entire world that there can be disorder or lack of peace where justice and fair dealings exist. There is little doubt that restlessness and anxiety is increasing in the world, and so disorder is spreading. This clearly proves that somewhere along the line, the requirements of justice are not being fulfilled. Therefore, there is an urgent need to try and end this inequality wherever and whenever it exists,” Onilewura said.
He said the day the people of the world come to recognize and understand this crucial point will be the day that the foundation for true and everlasting peace will be laid, while warning that the rich and powerful countries should not usurp the rights of the poor and weaker countries in an effort to preserve their own rights and nor should they deal with the poorer nations in an unjust manner.
The Director General of the Foundation, Alhaji Mohammed Qasim Gbadegesin, said the lecture is for humanity not for Muslims or Christians as the world today is witnessing an alarming record of 153 million orphans, hence the need to identify the problems and find out solutions to them.
