Tope emerges Nigerian Insurers Association chairman

Insurance operators under the umbrella of Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) have  elected Tope Smart as the new chairman of the association at its 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held  in Lagos.

Smart is the  Group Managing Director/CEO of NEM Insurance Plc and is  the  23rd  elected chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association.

In his acceptance speech, he  promised to do everything humanly possible to move  the association forward.

“I will collaborate with NAICOM, NCRIB, ILAN and other agencies to move our great association forward. Protection of members is paramount to me,” he said. 

The association also elected the group managing director of Cornerstone Insurance Plc, Ganiyu Musa, as its deputy chairman.

The MD/CEO of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Segun Omosehin; MD/CEO of AIICO Insurance Plc, Edwin Igbiti and MD/CEO Capital Express Assurance, Bola Odukale were all elected into the Governing Council of the association.
