A firm, Topup Africa limited, has taught hundreds of residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) the use of mobile phones to make wealth at a workshop in Abuja over the weekend.

The Business Manager of Topup Africa, Mr. Henry Chima, said his organization, which is an empowerment platform, sees the venture as parts of efforts to cushion the effects of the current economic recession in the country.

Mr. Chima, said the organization creates a mobile wallet through which people sell airtime, DSTV and internet subscription and electricity recharge to their customers and make profit on it.

Chima said the organisation is currently using recharge cards as its primary product because “whether there is recession or not, people still make calls, subscribe for data, recharge meters and use airtime. So, that is a virgin market for anybody to tap into. This is the best opportunity now that the country is in recession.”
