Investors have been urged to seek sound investment advice to minimise economic risk in a volatile environment like Nigeria.
Experts including financial economist and a Professor of Capital Market, Prof. Uche Uwaleke, gave the advice in Lagos during the launch of three mutual funds by Cowry Treasurers Limited.
They are the Fixed Income Fund, Balanced Fund and Equity Fund, designed to provide a safety net and guaranteed future for the investing public.
The Managing Director/CEO of Cowry Treasurers Limited, Charles Sanni, said the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Russian-Ukraine war, among others, have created anxiety in nations with slow growth and inflation.
Sanni noted that the company created the dialogue because of the volatility of the country’s investment space and the regrettable experience of investors of Ponzi schemes.
“Things have changed. The environment in which we are in today is such that it presents before us challenging times which seem to be more uncertain than ever before. Business decisions appear more complex, the need for investors to retool has become imperative,” he said.
The founder of the firm, Mr Johnson Chukwu, who disclosed that it will launch dollar denominated funds in the future, added that the company is in the business of helping people to create wealth and institutions.
