Drawing from the analogy of a football field, we can say that no matter how expensive, credible, talented or gifted a coach is, without corresponding  talented, fit and visionary players, the expertise  of that coach can’t translate into any tangible victory at any time. He will struggle to meet the expectations of the football fans who probably queued under the hot sun to get into the football field.
It is because of the foregoing that I, and am sure many others, lend their voice to Mr Mahmud Lawal Ismaila, who wrote: ”Using these indices and several other factors as a platform, we suggest, among other prominent Nigerians, Sen. Baba-Ahmed for further national assignment from Kaduna State.
Never one to shy away from accepting and excelling in responsibilities that come his way, Baba-Ahmed’s years of both public and private service has simply reinforced the fact that excellent attributes in men make them stand out without any overexertion from them. 
We in the northern part of Kaduna State, after seeing his robust developmental strides, within and outside the state, are of the opinion that as someone who was deeply and actively instrumental to the success of the APC in Kaduna, and based on his antecedent as a performer par excellence, an educationalist, a philanthropist and opinion leader, we recommend him for a role in the government that would be formed on May 29, 2015.
His wide acceptability across all divides ensured victory for him when he contested for the Zaria federal constituency in 2003 and won – emerging as a member of the House of Representatives.  While in the House of Representatives, Sen. Baba-Ahmed who already had an MSc in Economics from the University of Maiduguri and MBA from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, in keeping with Mahatma Ghandi’s words: “Live as if you were to die tomorrow; learn as if you were to live forever”, earned the title of Doctor of Philosophy when he successfully completed his PhD in Economics at University of Westminster, United Kingdom.
Even though he is as human as any man out there, yet this man of immense competence, stellar record of accomplishment in office, impeccable integrity and character, has been able to raise himself above and beyond most of his peers due to self-belief and hard work, never forgetting us, his people.
 His quest for quality education in Nigeria led him to singlehandedly establish Baze University in Abuja, FCT, one of only about 7 private universities in the whole Northern Nigeria. In less than 5 years, Sen. Baba-Ahmed has assembled a formidable team of senior expatriates and highly skilled Nigerians returning from diaspora, to blend with quality academics from all corners of Nigeria to make Baze University a true centre of excellence for learning.”
The quality and success Sen. Baba-Ahmed has achieved at Baze University is a shining example of what Nigeria can achieve devoid of corruption and nepotism. He is an excellent material, fit for higher national service.
