Town planners to hold Green Cities summit

The Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) is to hold a Nigeria Green Cities summit as part of its commitment to promoting a sustainable development of the country’s environment.

The event, NITP revealed in a statement from the chairman of the committee, Moses Ogunyele, would hold August 27-29 at the CBN International Conference Centre, Maitama, Abuja with the maiden theme ‘Brown to Green: Enhancing Wellness and Livability’.

The summit, according to NITP, is a biennial event which has as its principal goal bringing together stakeholders across various sectors of the economy and groups, including multi-lateral bodies to brainstorm on the key challenges confronting the urban environment.

Participants expected at the summit include local and international individual/organizations, ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), federal, state and local governments, manufacturing/industrial concerns, multilateral agencies, professional associations, consultants and CSOs.
