Toyota Fortuner hits Nigerian market

The product, which originated from South Africa, was introduced in line with the specification of Nigeria’s need, according to the automobile company.

At the media launch of the product in Lagos, the company’s Managing Director, Chandrasheter Thampy,said that the introduction of Toyota Fortuner was borne out of the need to keep and uphold the philosophy of customers first in terms of  quality and specification.

The company’s boss, who recalled that Toyota recently launched new Camry into the market, said more customers of Toyota would find the new product durable, affordable coupled with the physical and value addition components therein.

He said as a value-driven company, Toyota would meet its requisite market share while continually given its customers, innovation, service and products that can stand the test of time.

The Company’s Marketing Manager, Bayo Lawoyin, who also spoke at the launch disclosed that the Fortuner’s engine is 4-runner, an SUV developed from Hilux in order to maintain Toyota’s reputation for durability, quality, performance and safety.

He also said the product was designed to blend the excellence of road ability and stability.

“The engine has been designed to deliver optimal performance in all usage conditions. It also has low engine noise. While demonstrating high power and performance, the engines are also built in consideration of fuel economy and environment’’.

According to him, the Fortuner has electronic fuel injection system with tank capacity while its suspension and aerodynamics have been optimized to assure excellent stability and steering feel.
