The National Single Window (NSW) platform is expected to go live today (Friday), marking a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to boost trade facilitation. 

The unveiling of the NSW platform is coming ahead of the highly anticipated €746 million upgrade of the Apapa and Tin-Can Ports, both in Lagos State.

The NSW platform is designed to provide a single, unified interface for all stakeholders involved in the import and export process, including shipping lines, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies. 

By streamlining and automating many of the processes involved in clearing goods through customs, the NSW platform is expected to significantly reduce the time and cost associated with doing business at Nigerian ports.

The launch of the NSW platform is a key component of the Nigerian government’s broader efforts to reform and modernize the country’s port sector. 

The unveiling was done on Tuesday at an event attended by stakeholders.

The Coordinator of the National Single Window, Tola Fakolade, stated that the platform would go live on March 27, 2026, adding that the first phase of the rollout would cover the processing of import licences, permits, and certificates for key regulatory agencies, including NAFDAC and SON, through the single platform.
