A trader, Iliya Sanni (51) was on Tuesday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrate Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing 30 tons of corn and bags of rice. Sanni, of no fixed address, was charged with stealing, the offence he pleaded not guilty to.
The prosecutor, Insp Akeem Akinloye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in September, 2024 at Agro Farms Lagun, Ibadan.
Akinloye alleged that the defendant collected 30 tons of corn worth N21 million and 15 bags of rice worth N1.2 million from another retired trader, Mrs Kofoworade Odunola without paying.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10 million with two reliable sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until October 2, for hearing. (NAN)
