A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, sentenced a 22-year-old trader, Usman Yakubu, to one year in prison for possession of illegal drugs.
The Magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, sentenced him after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Bokkos, in her judgment, however, gave the convict an option of N50,000 fine.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Ijuptil Thiawur, told the court that the case was reported by police operatives on patrol at “C” Division on January 12, after they found the convict with hard substances.

Thiawur said that during investigation, the substances were confirmed to be Marijuana and Ice. (NAN)
