Traders within and outside the University of Jos (Unijos) in Plateau State yesterday said the closure of the institution has crippled their business activities.

It would be recalled that the management of the institution announced its closure in August this year following the killings that engulfed some parts of the state.

Many residents of the state, including students of the institution, were killed during the crisis, leading to the suspension of the second semester examinations and subsequent closure of the institution.

Martha Daniel, a trader in front of the university’s gate, complained about their challenges since the closure of the institution, nothing that business was not moving at all.

She said, “We solely rely on the students to sell our goods. Now that they are not present, nothing is moving. It is a very difficult moment for us here.”
