Oba Aromolaran who is also the chancellor of Modibo Adama Federal University of Technology Yola, while making the call at a social function in Ibadan, expressed concern that the governorship election has generated lots apprehension in the minds of people all over the state.
He said INEC should ensure a level play ground, conducive and secured atmosphere for the electorate to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice.
His words: “We expect INEC to live up to its mission which is to serve as an independent and effective Election Management body, committed to the conduct of free, fair and credible elections for sustainable democracy in Nigeria.”
The Oba tasked the two major parties in the governorship race billed for Saturday to be God-fearing by allowing peace to reign and play the game according to the rules.
“No one can occupy any position on earth unless he has been divinely ordained by the Almighty, so we should allow God’s will to be done and not mastermind moves that can result into loss of lives and properties,” the royal father admonished.
