What is your relationship with the late Nangor?

 

He is my cousin and we have been together from childhood. He was living in Kwali, Abuja, where I also live and serve as chief of Plateau State indigenes around the area. He is an indigene of Langtang North local government, Plateau State. He left behind a wife and nine children. Some are married while others children are attending primary and secondary schools. The wife is a full-time housewife.

Nangor joined the police in the late 80s and was posted to Abuja around the early 90s but I cannot recall the precise dates. But he came to stay with me in Kwali in 1993.

Who is going to take care of his children?

Well, that is one burden which for now I cannot ascertain who will exactly handle. However, we have to rely on cultural norms. If the children are mature enough and have work to earn a living, then they can support their mother but if they are young, then their uncles can team up to decide on how to assist.

In this case, we don’t know yet who will take care of the late Nangor family because so many cultural standards have changed but the wife will take charge.

Can you tell us more about late Nangor?

He was a goodhearted person and a generous relative. Just a day to his death, he came to my house in the evening to visit. He was a hard-working man. In fact if you go to his house now, you will find a huge number of people sympathizing with the family. I am here to find out the whereabouts of his body.
